Supporters of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) raise thousands of dollars for the North Texas Chapter every year through third party events. These events are put on by volunteers who are interested in utilizing their time, talents and personal connections to raise money on behalf of LLS. While these are not staff-run events, they are an instrumental part of raising awareness, outreach and funds for the North Texas Chapter and the ongoing race to find cures for blood cancers.
The North Texas House of Motorcycles recently held an event to benefit LLS called Ride for the Cure! On March 15th several motorcycle enthusiasts met at the North Texas House of Motorcycles in Hurst for a charity ride. The members of four different motorcycle clubs (One Nation, Star 206, BMW DFW Riders Club and Coassacks Motorcycle Club) all sent members to participate in the ride.
The North Texas House of Motorcycles created custom shirts for event participants, cooked breakfast and served a BBQ lunch for riders and had live music at the shop. The event raised nearly $900 for LLS. The North Texas Chapter is so thankful for the effort event organizers put into creating such a fantastic event.
