North Texas Giving Day: A Breakdown

The North Texas Chapter is humbled and thankful for the incredibly generous donations The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) received during the 2014 North Texas Giving Day by the Communities Foundation of Texas.

You and 186 other people helped us raise $67,655 in 18 hours.  Incredible!  Even more amazing are the stories about the people who used this opportunity to support LLS in an impactful way.  Below are a couple of the stories from people who felt compelled to give.

A grandmother in honor of her grandson who is currently battling a rare form of leukemia
A mother in honor of her son who is now 12 years cancer free
A woman whose step-father is currently battling CML
A woman whose mother passed away from lymphoma.
A Team In Training participant honoring the work and legacy of Coach Joe
An esteemed blood cancer doctor and researcher who is currently funded by LLS
North Texas Board of Trustee members who are dedicated to the mission
A woman in honor of her husband who passed away from a blood cancer
A family that honors two friends who battled blood cancers and are now survivors
Coworkers supporting their coworkers participating in Light The Night and Team In Training
A survivor who wants to keep another person from receiving the news, "you have cancer."

Each person has a different story but their vision is the same: A World Without Blood Cancers.

From the bottom of our hearts,
